Posting an Ad

Let’s Get Started!

Step 1: Click the orange link that says, “Post an Ad”.

Step 2: Choose a Category

Step 3: Fill out the ad information

Upload some photos, your logo or even a picture of yourself. There are thumbnails of various sizes all over the site. Even if you grab a (legal) photo off Google Images, it’s better than nothing. If you don’t upload something, your are going to see a very boring “NO IMAGE AVAILABLE” picture – and look like dozens of other ads that don’t have photos.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT UPLOADING IMAGES:

To keep the site running smoothly, we have an upload file size limit of 100K per image

The next most important element in your ad is to have good quality photographs of the items you have for sale. They don’t need to be taken by a professional, but the better they look, the more your ad will stand out. If they were taken with a digital camera, the file size is HUGE – usually 2-4 Megabytes, so you will need to re-size them before you upload. If you are not familiar with how to do basic cropping and resizing of photos, please see the Re-sizing Photos page.

The site is set up to look great with a square photo format but a standard 4X6 horizontal photo size will work fine. Vertical photos or graphics do better cropped closer to a square shape. The optimal size for making your photos load fast but still look good is 500 pixels wide X 500 px high and around 50K file size in one of the following formats: .jpg .gif or .png

General Information

If you want to edit your ad, just click on the “Pencil” image to the right of the ad in your dashboard.

Once the ad is published, don’t change the title of the ad. Doing so will cause links to your ad to stop working. If you need to change the title, “Pause” the old ad and create a new one to replace it.

Featured Ad Listings

On the main page, the featured ads are shown in a rotating carousel at the top of the page and on the ‘Featured Ads” section on the front page of the site.

We accept payments through Paypal for featured ad listings. If you don’t have a PayPal account, it is easy to set one up and tie it to your credit card / bank account. If you prefer, you can contact us and we will email you an invoice that can be paid with any major credit card.

If you post an ad and later decide to upgrade it to a featured ad, just send an email to us through the Contact page and we’ll upgrade it for you – so you don’t have to re-post the ad.
